A few weeks ago Twin Lacrosse sent me one of their 60" d-pole shafts to review; it's called the Trinity shaft. I have been seeing this pole around the lacrosse the community for a while now so I was grateful they sent one over. Twin Lacrosse's 60" Trinity shaft comes in three pieces; the top and the bottom of the shaft and then a smaller piece that goes in the middle and connects the two larger pieces with push buttons. We tested out this pole for a while throwing it through some different drills and activities that we believe encompass every characteristic a good d-pole should have. Let's jump into it. The scores are ranked 1-10 (1 the worst and 10 the best).

Topics:

1. Durability/Strength: 8

We ran the Twin Lacrosse d-pole through a few game scenarios and also through defense drills. Over the course of three weeks and constant use, the Trinity shaft came out with some minor wear and tear. For coming in three separate pieces where you think there would be more weak points in this type of shaft than a normal one, we didn't see any excess damage around where the shafts connect. We absolutely believe that the Trinity shaft could do some serious damage throughout the course of a season.

2. Assembly/Portability: 10

The Trinity shaft might be the easiest thing ever to put together which is great. You slide the middle piece into the two larger pieces, click them in, and you're ready to play. This is great when traveling in cars with a d-pole, or for putting it inside of airplane luggage during your club/spring season. This alone should be enough of a reason to pick up the Twin Lacrosse Trinity shaft. In addition, either of the 30" shafts individually can be used as a legal short stick. This might not be necessary for everybody, but it just shows how universal the Trinity lacrosse shaft is. We were originally intrigued about how the buttons on the shaft would feel when handling the pole. We were pleasantly surprised that you can't notice them, especially when you have gloves on and it's pretty much impossible to accidentally push in one of the buttons while wearing gloves.

3. Looks/Weight: 10

This pole looks clean and sharp. No complaints. The entire 60" pole, without a head, weighed in at about 15.2 ounces. This make it not the lightest pole on the market, but certainly not the heaviest either.

4. Price: 10

For $100 this shaft is a steal. You get a 60" pole and two legal 30" short sticks all in one. We believe this is a must have for any youth/high school player who primarily played close defense or lsm and also has the tendency to play other positions requiring a short stick when needed.

Bottom Line: 38/40

This is a great pole especially if you're a youth or high school player traveling a lot on the club circuit or doing the spring season. This shaft is durable and strong enough to last you an entire season and in addition it provides versatility that is not seen in other lacrosse products. Pick up a Twin Lacrosse Trinity shaft for yourself and you will never regret your decision. Click here to purchase your Trinity shaft today!
